Baked Peaches Recipe
Growing up, we only ever had this dessert made on the grill. It was very summery and seemed like an extra special treat that way. Now though, I’m an adult (kind of), live in a 500sqft apartment, and have no space for a grill. So making my summer grilled peaches wasn’t going to happen.
Well this year it was time to change that. So I experimented with baking them and came up with this. It’s way simpler than other recipes I was finding. And I’ve found that sometimes the simplest ways, truly are the best ways.
Halve and pit you peaches, sprinkle them with a dash of cinnamon, and put on your super fresh, eco-friendly silicone baking mat.
Then place them in your preheated oven.
Let them cook until they are warm and soft (about 10-15 minutes). Don’t let them get too soft unless you’re into burnt peach skin and peach mush.
Broiling the peaches caramelize the natural sugars in the peaches so you have an extra sweet treat on top.
Then let them rest for a few minutes. Supposedly, you do this to let the peach reabsorb sugars – which may be a lie but it’s what my dad always made us do. Now that I think about it, maybe he just wanted to make sure we’d wait long enough so that everyone got some.
Top with some ice cream and my homemade caramel sauce and voila. You have a super easy but super elegant dessert that’s perfects sweet, healthy, and good for your skin.
