Making skinny spicy margarita is relatively easy as you need just a few natural ingredients. The recipe I m going to share with you is entirely sugar-free, gluten-free, and vegan-friendly.

Recipe of Skinny Spicy Margarita

A skinny margarita itself has fewer calories and less sugars. A classic margarita has more calories because of orange liquor. But in the skinny margarita recipe, orange liquor is replaced by orange juice, which doesn’t increase the calorie count. Along with orange juice, a touch of jalapeno also enhances the favor of skinny spicy margarita. The details of ingredients and the recipe steps are given below.

Ingredients

For a refreshing skinny spicy margarita, you will need the following ingredients.

  • Jalapeno slices
  • Orange juice
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Sea salt
  • Tequila (In this recipe, white tequila, also called tequila Blanco is used, but you can also replace it with silver tequila if you like it)
  • Agave syrup (used to add sweetness to the margarita)

Recipe

Step 1: Preparing the Glass

Take sea salt and add it on a shallow plate. The plate should be deep enough to fit the rim of your serving margarita glass. You will require enough salt to dip the rim. The salt will not be wasted as you can put it back in the pantry to use for other recipes. So, add a 1cm thick layer of sea salt to the plate.

Now rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge. This step will wet the glass rim to stick it with salt and add a little lime flavor. It will help if you wet about 3 mm of the glass rim. This is the time to dip the glass into the salt, and it will stick to it. Keep the glass in the freezer for at least 20 minutes. This step will allow the glass to frost, set the glass rim, and make the margarita more delicious to serve.

Step 2: Spice It Up

Add jalapeno slices along with crushed ice into a cocktail shaker. Mix up the jalapeno into the ice with a wooden spoon, and then release some spice into the cocktail shaker.

Step 3: Shake It Well

After adding jalapeno, you should now add agave syrup, orange juice, and lime juice to the shaker. Then shake the mixture vigorously for at least one minute. Shaking may hurt your arm, but you have to be vigorous while shaking because it will release the flavors.

Step 4: Serving

Take a margarita serving glass from your freezer. Half filled this glass with crushed ice. Now strain the margarita cocktail into this glass over crushed ice. For decoration and serving, add a few jalapeno slices to the glass.
