Tips for Perfect Pumpkin Patch Brownies
The key for the perfect pumpkin patch brownies, is to NOT overmix! Girl, when I say 50 strokes, only mix the wet ingredients into the dry 50 times.
If you don’t have non-stick cooking spray, don’t fret. You can also melt some butter and brush each mini muffin cup with a healthy layer.
Lay your crushed brownies on a plate before you roll your ganache topped brownies.
Materials for these Cute Bite Sized Pumpkin Patch Brownies
Mini Muffin Tin
It’s rather hard to make brownie bites without a tiny muffin pan. This is the one I have and I love it because it’s extra large (it holds 48 mini muffins) which is great for baking party foods or prepping appetizers for the holidays.
Reusable Piping Bags
You may not need these piping bags as much as you would for normal sized cupcakes or a cake, but I WILL CONTINUE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THEM EVERY CHANCE I GET!
Stop tossing your disposible piping bags and being responsible for contributing to pollution. Baking is supposed to make the world a sweeter place….so let’s not be hypocritical and make it an uglier place on the back end.
This reusable piping bag set is easy to use, easy to clean, and much, MUCH easier on the planet.
Candy Pumpkins
Hard to have a pumpkin patch without the pumpkins, right?
Oreos
You’ll only need to crush 2 or 3 of these but I really love the dirt effect. Picking pumpkins requires getting a little dirty, so it makes these pumpkin patch brownies more authentic.
If you end up crushing wayyy too many Oreos may I suggest you create a childhood favorite? Pudding dirt cups are always the best nostalgic dessert!
Pumpkin Patch Brownie Bites
Ingredients
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1¼ cup all purpose flour
- 2½ cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup oil
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp vanilla
Buttercream Frosting
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 5 drops Green food coloring
- ¾ cup Butter room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 40 Candy Corn Pumpkin
- 2 Crushed Oreos
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F and spray a mini muffin pan with some non stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients until well combined. Then fold in your eggs, oil, and vanilla. Whisk for about 50 strokes.
- Scoop about 1 tablespoon into each mini muffin cup. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the brownie edges pull away from the sides of the pan.
- Let the brownie bites cool for about 10 minutes then remove from the pan and allow to cool fully.
- Meanwhile make your buttercream. In a mixing bowl, use your hand mixer to beat your room temperature butter, vanilla, and heavy cream together. Slowly beat in your powdered sugar and whisk until fluffy.
- Transfer to a reusable piping bag. Pipe your buttercream onto each brownie bite (I used a star piping tip from this set here). Sprinkle the frosting with some crushed Oreo.
- Press a candy pumpkin into the center of each bite and voila, you've got some tasty pumpkin patch brownie bite.
